During the Easter holidays, Hirsty’s Family Fun Park is expecting over 200 lambs and 30 calves to be born – and with a tractor and trailer ride down to the ewe and calf maternity ward, there’s a chance that some lucky visitors will see the animals being born. As well as experiencing Farmer Hirst’s lambing and calving shed, the Spring Baa-nanza event includes Easter egg hunts and arts and crafts, all the usual petting farm activities plus a ride aboard the barrel train, crazy croquet, the hay bale mountain and bouncing pillows. Great Yarmouth's Time and Tide Museum has a treat in store for dinosaur fans and fossil hunters this Easter. Opening on 16th March, Dinosaurium: Re-imagined Creatures explores how every dinosaur featured on film, TV and in books has been, at least in part, a work of imagination. Alongside the fantasy, the exhibition will feature real exhibits from Norfolk Museum’s extensive history and geology collections to tell how scientists drew conclusions about dinosaurs. It will also spotlight the remarkable life of Anna Gurney, a Norfolk-born philanthropist, geologist and social reformer and there will be plenty of hands-on dinosaur and fossil-related activities too! Dinosaurium: Re-imagined Creatures will run at Great Yarmouth's Time and Tide Museum from 16th March to 21st September. Tickets cost £7.40 adults and £6.30 children, under 4yrs free. |
Opening in time for Easter, the Pleasure Beach on Great Yarmouth’s South Beach is kickstarting the season with a brand-new ride. The Polar Express is a thrilling 20-car ‘kiss-cover’ circular ride with carriages that whizz around to music. With a pedigree dating back several decades, the park’s appeal spans the ages with rides from family and retro favourites to thrills and spills for the adrenalin seekers. All-day, off-peak wrist bands for the Pleasure Beach start from £21 for 7yrs+, £15 for 3-6yrs and under 3yrs are just £9 per person. |
Easter visitors to Merrivale Model Village will be able to step back in time and experience the games of the 80s and 90s, thanks to the opening of a new retro arcade within the attraction’s ever-popular Penny Arcade. As well as the new addition to the vintage machines and games space, visitors will be able to roam the English countryside in miniature, play a round of the crazy golf course and take in the spring colours in the gardens too. A real Easter treat for those driving to Great Yarmouth is the recent opening of Herring Bridge, as up to 20 minutes has been shaved off journey times in and around the resort. The new infrastructure enables those approaching from North or East London to exit the A47 earlier, saving 10-15 minutes on their drive time. While guests staying at holiday parks located on the south side of Great Yarmouth seafront, including Haven’s Wild Duck and Parkdean’s Breydon Water and Cherry Tree, could save up to 20 minutes on their journey. |
